Slash is an Awesome guitarist. He's got it all. I mean you don't just wake up and find that you are really good at something, you need dedication and Slash has that dedication needed to be great, and that's only one of the many reasons he deserves his place in the top 5.

2. Jimi Hendrix
I'm sure that Slash would admit that he and basically every guitarist since the early seventies owes Jimi Hendrix big time.
Slash is great, he is possibly the best soloist ever, but he'll never he Hendrix. He is a legend R.I.P
Eric Clapton was a god of his days. And that god was dumbfounded by the abilities of Jimi. He even walked off stage after they jammed. I'm not saying that noone deserves a spot ahead of Jimi, but Slash? Slash deserves top 10 in a popularity contest not in a contest of skill.

Synyster Gates has such blistering speed and yet you can hear every note played, he is a pro at divebombs and sweep picking and definitely a amazing guitarist, and because of his young age by the time he is slash's age he will be the next slash

he is very feasible juxtaposed with other guitar legends chest of Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani.

slash is great, but not #1. syn has amazing speed but still plays clean and has unforgettable solos and riffs.

The man is a god of the guitar! pure genius don't have to say any more, his playing speaks for itself,
5. Kirk Hammett
He's not the best, but man is he good. He's definitely heavy metal, and can go insane with a guitar. If you've heard him play any of his better songs, you'll know what I mean.
3rd... seriously... the guy who made the one solo and the fade to black solo... part of the biggest metal band on the earth... yeah... he deserves at least 2nd
Kirk is definitely top 5 guitarist. you can't get better than the interlude in master of puppets or the solo in one. he is a very technical guitarist. ypu can't get to much faster than 220 bpm in master of puppets or 210 in fight fire with fire.

Tomo always plays with passion. He's so great in what he does. And no matter what success 30 Seconds to Mars has got, he is so down to earth. A guy we can all look up to.
He can win, he can lose... he's still the best guitarist in all the world! Echelon love you honey! <3

I play guitar hero 2 and buy a song called 'jordan' from buckethead. jordan is the most remarkable solo guitar play that I ever heard. Buckethead should in big 5. Agree with me?
He is amazing. I have never seen such emotion from someone like him.

You have to give it to this guy. Very underrated as a guitar player, it's a shame his public image over-shadows the incredible talent this man possesses. Dig a little, check this guy's guitar playing, a little bit of Santana, a lil' bit of Hendrix, with his own stamp on it! Could play any style with anyone and still come out on top! You should also hear this guy play piano too!
The most underrated guitarist in our history.He is the perfect allround player! From hardrock to pop and blues to jazz, he created his own style that is absolutly unique. Ask Clapton (one of his favourite player) ; Santana and Miles Davis. You must see him live on stage to feel his vibrations and his guitarskills. He played everything he wants to !
Prince's guitar playing never seems to come across that well in his production / mixing but see him play that thing live and you can sure enough tell he is it - check out the guitar solo at the 2004 Hall of Fame all star performance of While my guitar gently weeps.
